Spirituality

We understand spirituality broadly as fostering emotional well-being, encouraging healthy communal practices, and discovering new mediums of self-care. Our Black LGBTQ+ Caucus meets monthly to design community programming. We’ve offered events ranging from LGBTQ+ Family Day to a Pride Skate Party and Self-Care Events – all to build self-worth and community.

Self-Care Recharge

One of our most popular spirituality programs is Self-Care Recharge, where we create physical, mental, and spiritual renewal in Black LGBTQ+ Chicagoans. We do this by bringing in Black LGBTQ+ health and wellness professionals to provide culturally responsive renewal services directly to our community at no cost, such as massages, acupuncture, yoga, nutritional coaching, somatic movement, therapist-led sessions, and more.

Black Wellness Tribe

The Black Wellness Tribe offers free weekly wellness classes specifically designed for Black LGBTQ+ individuals. This holistic program combines strength training, endurance exercises, and functional mobility work. We emphasize the spiritual connection between mind, body, and spirit, fostering a supportive environment where participants set personal wellness goals and engage in individualized consultations. At Lighthouse Foundation, we view physical wellness as a path to spiritual empowerment and collective healing, inviting Black LGBTQ+ Chicagoans to join us in a journey toward personal growth and community well-being.
